It is time to leave this amazing country. There are so many words that could be used to attempt to describe Japan but the main one for me is the sense of exquisite attention to every particular. I will also remember how kind everyone is to us as English-speakers with limited Japanese. (I spent many months in Japan many years ago so my Japanese is pretty rusty at this point, although it has been a big help to know some.) In many cases, people rushing by in public transport saw that we were Americans trying to figure out a train map and went out of their way to assist us and expedite the next leg of our journey.
